Science/TechNow this is cool. Researchers from the University of California at Irvine and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign have created a simulation of a virus using supercomputers at U.S. National Center for Supercomputing Applications, located at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

The simulation follows the life of the satellite tobacco mosaic virus, which is one of the simpler viruses. One can only wonder how long until we see simulations of complex ecosystems. And I'm not talking about the SimEarth variety.
